When my brother emailed these photos of a caterpillar he discovered creeping through the garage at his lake home near Boulder Junction, I knew I had to share. This is one weird-looking creature! Those fake eye spots are eerie. We tentatively identified it as a Tiger Swallowtail, probably Canadian or Eastern. Not sure which, so if you know the difference, do tell. Amazing photos...taken with his iPhone, I think.
And just for the record, this is what it will eventually look like...transformed from weird to wonderful. Nature has a sense of humor!
