To eat or NOT to eat

This weekend, we discovered an arc of huge mushrooms in the woods next to the house--white and ripe for plucking, though I knew that wouldn't be smart without some mushroom ID skills. So I just grabbed a few pix and decided to try to identify them online. Turns out they could be parasol mushrooms OR green-spored lepiota (the most common cause of wild mushroom poisoning in North America) OR something else entirely. There are thousands! The main difference lies in the spore print (green for the poisonous one). I don't think they're quite ripe enough to take a print, so if anyone on Spring Lake knows mushrooms, come take a look and help us identify them.

  1. Mushroom ID Update:
From the photos, a mushroom "farmer" has tentatively identified these as Macrolepiota Rachodes but recommends further verification before eating them.
