one...and counting

Oh, me of little faith. I had all but given up on seeing any eggs in that magnificent nest. Yet I couldn't resist my daily blind camera "click" late this morning, having read that robins typically lay their eggs mid-morning. As I slowly opened the door, I didn't really expect to see her fly off the nest. It had never happened before. Could it be? It COULD! One lovely egg. Robins lay just one egg per day, up to a typical clutch of three or four eggs. I will check again tomorrow, but not until she's off the nest, poor thing. Scared us both! Beautiful, isn't it? I didn't expect the color to be so deep.
