Protecting Spring Lake Wildlife

Just saw this article in the Chicago Tribune on Sunday, 11/18/2012.

And it serves to remind us of our role in protecting the wildlife.

This is from Dawn Keller, of the Chicago based Flint Creek Wildlife Organization.

She says, "80% of the injured animals we see are human-caused.  Maybe they use a poison in the house, and the mouse eats it, runs outside and a bird eats the mouse.    Birds ingest lead shot, animals are hit by cars, window strikes, etc."

If you see an injured animal, they take them in, but they are in Chicago.

Does anyone else know of a local place??

Their address is flintcreekwildlife.org.
