Foxy Photo Capture

Kathy Kis shared this unique photo (captured through her window) of a very small gray fox--think smaller than her sweet dog PD. This isn't the first time the fox has decided to grab a little time on their deck. Not even the flash of her camera scared him away.
Gray foxes can climb trees and usually build their dens in hollow logs or trees, although Kathy suspects this one may be living under their deck. Adults typically weigh between 7 and 13 pounds. Their diet is mainly rodents--mice, voles, etc., and so they're especially vulnerable to secondary poisoning. A reminder to trap, not poison those pesky rodents. The gray fox can be a helpful partner in controlling them.
