We discovered a pair of House Finches working on a nest at our front door, which has been a favorite nesting spot year after year. It seems early to be nesting, but they're determined. House finches have been frequent visitors at our bird feeders all winter, so this pair must have decided to nest close to their food source. Fingers crossed that the Cowbirds stay away, as this nest is as tiny as they come--only about 3 inches. Definitely no space for cowbird eggs.
