We'll never know what happened with that third egg. It didn't hatch the day it should have--the day after the second chick. If you look closely, you can see it--that little patch of blue to the right of the smaller chick. I've read that parents will toss an infertile or defective egg, so I'm not sure why it's still there. But mom and dad robin have two chicks to feed and they're doing a great job. Today's rain helped make worms more accessible, and they don't have to fly far to shop for groceries. Feathers are coming in nicely, even if it does look a little bit like a bad hair day.
